Mini Blinds

People love mini blinds and so do I for good reason. They are so convenient, they hit the right stylistic notions, and they do the job of filtering out the sunlight. In fact, you can have so much control over the light just by using a mini blind that it’s astonishing. You start to wonder how people got by without them.

Another good thing about them is, quite frankly, that they are cheap. Of course you can always get into the higher end of anything, and you may very well want to do that with your mini blinds. There are also many different kinds of mini blinds - you can base your purcahse on the type of material you prefer, the colour of your blinds, and please don't forget that you'll need to make sure that you buy the right size blinds for your window!

The first type that we’re going to look at is the vinyl variety. These are made of vinyl and will last a long time. Unlike wood or some other corrosive materials, vinyl holds up pretty well over a long amount of time.

You may also find that it is easier to clean your vinyl mini blinds versus other more porous ones. That’s not to say that they’re the best though. Another benefit is that it’s a cheap mass produced material.

Then you’ve got your aluminum mini blinds. I don’t know a soul who doesn’t have some opinion on these. They run the gamut from “marvelous” to “oh no”. I don’t know why just the plain use of aluminum elicits so many different and varied expressions, but it does.

A note of caution is that if you’re going to go with any sort of metallic mini-blinds then you’d better figure out how you’re going to clean it. Sometimes a metal like aluminum will take a different strategy as everything might not wipe right off it. Overall though I think you’ll be happy with this choice if it suits your design needs.

The obvious benefit of going with black blinds is that they’ll really stop the sun light dead in its tracks. Black absorbs all colors, which is why it gets so hot in the summer time. But in this case you will like it because it will even have a bit of insulating effect during the hot summer months.

These mini blinds are certainly not for everyone, but you don’t have to think of them in a “gothic” sense. The fact is that they could be used while in a very white room. If you are going for that minimalistic checkerboard look then look no further.

Finally, you want to know how to find them for a deal. Have nor fear, sales and liquidations are near constant in this industry. You only have to agree to not hold too tightly to any particular vision you have of which mini blind manufacturer you want to use. If you can be a bit flexible then you should never have to pay full price: cheap mini blinds are the norm and not the exception.

Usually a company will call their sales a “discount”, so be on the lookout for that word in particular. They are not going to want to advertise them as “cheap”, especially not with the higher quality blinds.

But by and large they are such a popular item that many companies are able to provide them to you at a lower price just because of economies of scale. Beyond this they do often have to liquidate unpopular lines. Remember that one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure and you’ll do swell! Just because something is not popular with the masses, that does not mean that these blinds will not be the perfect accentuation of your already pristine interior design.
